0. Terms of Service
0.1 Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the SME Entrepreneur Magazine website, online magazine shop, digital publications, and membership services (collectively, the “Services”). By accessing, browsing, registering, purchasing, or using any part of the Services, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms.
0.2 Eligibility and Legal Capacity
Users must be at least eighteen (18) years of age or have the consent of a legal parent or guardian to use the Services and to enter into binding agreements.
0.3 Account Registration and Security
- Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of login credentials.
- Accounts are intended for individual use only unless expressly agreed in writing.

- All transactions are processed securely via approved third-party payment gateways (including but not limited to PayFast, WooCommerce, MemberPress, and Paystack).
- By making a purchase or subscribing to any service, you authorise SME Entrepreneur Magazine to charge the applicable fees through the selected payment gateway.
- SME Entrepreneur Magazine is not responsible for the processing of payments beyond the secure handoff to the payment provider.
- Payment disputes, declines, or chargebacks will be handled in accordance with the policies of the relevant payment gateway.
0.6 Payment Security and PCI Compliance
- All payment processing is conducted through secure, PCI DSS-compliant gateways to ensure the protection of sensitive financial data.
- Payment information is encrypted during transmission and is not stored on SME Entrepreneur Magazine servers.
- Users are responsible for ensuring that their own devices and network connections are secure when entering payment information.
- While we take all reasonable precautions, SME Entrepreneur Magazine cannot guarantee protection against all security vulnerabilities outside of our control.
0.7 Suspension and Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate user accounts, memberships, or access to Services, without notice, where there is a breach of these Terms, non-payment, or unlawful activity.
0.8 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SME Entrepreneur Magazine shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Services.
0.9 Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SME Entrepreneur Magazine, its directors, employees, and partners against any claims, losses, or damages arising from your use of the Services or breach of these Terms.
0.10 Force Majeure
SME Entrepreneur Magazine shall not be liable for failure or delay in performance resulting from events beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, strikes, technical failures, or government actions.
0.11 Amendments
We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
0.12 Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. The courts of South Africa shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
1. Refund and Return Policy
1.1 Digital Magazine Purchases
- All digital publications are non-refundable once accessed or downloaded.
- Exceptions may apply in cases of duplicate purchases, technical errors, or unfulfilled delivery, subject to review and approval by SME Entrepreneur Magazine.
- Requests for refunds due to technical issues must be submitted within 7 calendar days of purchase, including proof of the issue and any relevant screenshots.
1.2 Printed Magazine Purchases
- Customers must inspect items upon delivery and report any damage, defect, or incorrect items within 7 calendar days.
- Accepted claims may result in either a replacement copy or a full refund, at the discretion of SME Entrepreneur Magazine.
- Refunds for shipping-related issues will only apply if the error is proven to be caused by SME Entrepreneur Magazine or the courier service during delivery.
- Returned items must be in original condition, unused, and with all original packaging where applicable.
- Customers are responsible for the safe return of items to SME Entrepreneur Magazine unless otherwise instructed.
1.3 Membership Subscriptions
- Memberships may be cancelled at any time prior to the renewal date via account settings or by contacting support.
- Refunds for partially used subscription periods are not automatically provided, except where required by law or in exceptional circumstances.
- If a subscription renewal was charged in error, or duplicate payments occurred, a full refund will be issued after verification.
- Free trials that convert to paid subscriptions will follow the same cancellation and refund rules.
1.4 Refund Request Procedure
- Refund requests must be submitted via our official support channels, including email: info@smeentrepreneur.co.za, with purchase details and reason for request.
- SME Entrepreneur Magazine will review requests and respond within 5-7 business days.
- Approved refunds will be processed using the original payment method within 10 business days.
- Refund approvals are at the discretion of SME Entrepreneur Magazine and may require verification or supporting evidence.
1.5 Special Considerations
- Items damaged in transit due to incorrect delivery addresses provided by the customer may not be eligible for refund.
- Digital content cannot be returned, so refunds are generally only considered in cases of technical failure or delivery errors.
- Refunds do not include any bank or payment gateway processing fees that may be non-refundable.
- SME Entrepreneur Magazine reserves the right to refuse refunds in cases of misuse, abuse of the refund policy, or fraudulent claims.
2. Subscription and Billing Policy
2.1 Billing Cycles
Membership subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis, either monthly or annually, depending on the plan selected at the time of purchase.
2.2 Automatic Renewals
All subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled prior to the applicable renewal date. By purchasing a subscription, you authorise SME Entrepreneur Magazine to charge the applicable subscription fees using your selected payment method through an approved payment gateway, including PayFast, WooCommerce, MemberPress, or Paystack.
2.3 Failed Payments
In the event of a failed or declined payment:
- Access to membership content may be temporarily suspended;
- We may attempt to reprocess the payment;
- Continued non-payment may result in termination of the subscription.
2.4 Pricing Changes
We reserve the right to adjust subscription pricing at any time. Any pricing changes will apply from the next billing cycle and will be communicated in advance where reasonably possible.
3. Shipping and Delivery Policy
3.1 Delivery Methods
Printed magazines are distributed using third-party courier and postal service providers.
3.2 Delivery Timeframes
Delivery timelines provided are estimates only and are subject to courier performance, geographic location, and external factors beyond our control.
3.3 Risk and Ownership
Risk in physical goods passes to the customer upon delivery to the nominated address. Ownership of goods transfers once full payment has been received through an approved payment gateway, including PayFast, WooCommerce, MemberPress, or Paystack.
3.4 Incorrect Address Information
Customers are responsible for ensuring that delivery information is accurate and complete. SME Entrepreneur Magazine shall not be held liable for delays or losses resulting from incorrect delivery details.
4. Cookie Policy

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to:
